The investigator explained that Michael’s company had been using falsified vehicle assets to secure loans. Photographs of Elena’s collection had appeared in financial applications claiming the cars belonged to the business. Diane’s attempted sale was meant to create quick cash before lenders discovered the truth.

Michael immediately blamed his mother, insisting she had acted alone. Then the garage footage showed him meeting the locksmith, photographing the VIN plates, and helping prepare duplicate keys. His signature also appeared on the fraudulent loan documents.

The police seized his phone and business records. Diane was questioned about the false sale agreement and her unauthorized entry into the garage. Mr. Harrison confirmed that the supposed $800,000 buyer payment would have been routed through an account already connected to Michael’s investigation.

The museum’s transport team removed all four cars that afternoon and placed them in secure storage. Elena accepted the restoration director position and moved her remaining tools into the museum’s workshop.

Michael later begged her to describe everything as a family misunderstanding. She filed for divorce instead and turned over every recording.

Diane had believed she was sacrificing Elena’s hobby to rescue her son.

Instead, she helped investigators connect the stolen vehicles, fraudulent loans, and failing business.

The collection entered a national exhibition.
