Mounted beneath Denise’s porch light was the security camera her husband had installed only a week earlier. Mia had noticed it immediately because its lens pointed directly across the property line toward our driveway. Denise’s face changed when she realized what my daughter meant. Her own camera had recorded the concrete truck arriving, the chute being positioned over my Chevrolet, and Denise standing beside it while deliberately telling her husband to keep pouring.

I called the police and my insurance company while the concrete was still wet. Denise suddenly insisted it had been an accident, but her husband’s construction truck carried GPS records, and the company dispatcher confirmed there had been no authorized job at my address. Officers obtained the relevant video through the proper process. My photographs, the camera footage, and several previous messages in which Denise demanded I move the car documented exactly how the dispute had developed.

The Chevrolet was declared a total loss. Denise and her husband initially tried to handle the matter privately, but their insurer and construction company became involved once the evidence was reviewed. The property-damage claim covered the vehicle, towing, cleanup, and damage to part of my driveway. Her husband also had to answer uncomfortable questions about why company equipment had been used for a personal neighborhood dispute.

A few weeks later, Mia helped me choose a reliable replacement car. It was not expensive or flashy, but she insisted we park it in the exact same driveway. Denise never complained about the view again. One afternoon, Mia looked toward the neighbor’s porch camera and smiled. “Good thing she liked watching our property so much,” she said. I laughed harder than I had in weeks. Denise had believed burying my car in concrete would prove she controlled what happened beside her lake view. Instead, the device she installed to watch everyone else became the clearest witness against her.
