Harper was pointing toward the security camera mounted beneath Regina’s porch roof. Regina had installed it only days earlier after complaining about “protecting her property,” and she had bragged that it recorded the entire side yard—including my driveway. A small red light was blinking. Harper had noticed it before I did. Regina’s face changed instantly because she realized her own system had recorded the concrete truck arriving, her husband positioning the chute, and her standing beside my Chevrolet laughing while the concrete poured.

I called police and my insurance company immediately. Regina suddenly claimed the whole thing had been an accident, but the camera footage told a different story. Officers documented the damage, photographed the truck, and preserved the relevant recording through the proper process. Her husband’s construction company also became involved because company equipment had apparently been used for a personal dispute without any legitimate job at my address.

My Chevrolet was eventually declared a total loss. Insurance covered the vehicle, while the damage claim and cleanup costs were handled separately. Regina and her husband also faced uncomfortable questions from their insurer and business partners about what had happened. I never demanded revenge. I simply wanted transportation for work, a repaired driveway, and assurance that nobody would touch my property again.

A few weeks later, Harper helped me choose another used car. She insisted we park it in exactly the same place. Regina never complained again. One afternoon, Harper looked toward that porch camera and whispered, “Good thing she liked watching us so much.” I laughed for the first time since the incident. Regina had believed pouring concrete over my car would prove she controlled the view. Instead, the camera she installed to watch everyone else became the clearest witness against her.
