I gave her the recording, Dr. Vance’s statement, Marguerite’s messages, and the information about the medication changes. My former career gave me no authority anymore, so I did exactly what I had once told victims to do: preserve everything and let investigators build the case properly.

By sunrise, detectives were already requesting pharmacy records, medical files, financial documents, and the original estate paperwork. Dr. Vance also revealed that Marguerite had blood drawn during her final appointment. Those preserved samples could now be reviewed to determine whether her prescribed medications matched what had actually been in her system. Meanwhile, the probate attorney was notified that Marguerite had reported being pressured to sign documents shortly before her death.
Weston called me repeatedly.
