Pool Noodle Light Rings Create Surprisingly Beautiful Outdoor Decorations Easily

Pool noodles are usually associated with summer, but this simple craft turns them into glowing decorations that can brighten patios, porches, gardens, or party spaces. The idea is to slice a pool noodle into thick sections, shape each piece into a ring, and wrap it with decorative string lights.

Begin by cutting the noodle into equal lengths and joining the ends of each section with strong tape or suitable adhesive. Once the rings are secure, wrap battery-powered LED lights evenly around them. Twine, ribbon, mesh, or lightweight fabric can also be added to hide the foam and give each ring a more polished appearance.

The finished decorations can be suspended from tree branches, hooks, fences, or covered porch ceilings. Hanging several rings at different heights creates a glowing display that resembles illuminated wreaths. They can also be customized for different occasions using colored ribbons, artificial flowers, or seasonal ornaments.

Safety is important when trying this project. Use low-heat LED lights rather than traditional bulbs, since foam can melt or become a fire hazard when exposed to excessive heat. Choose lights rated for outdoor use if the rings will be placed outside, keep battery compartments dry, and avoid leaving the display unattended for long periods.

With inexpensive supplies and a little creativity, ordinary pool noodles can become decorations that look far more expensive than they really are.
