Trump Restores Iowa and Kansas Rallies in Final Midterm Push as Republicans Fight to Hold Senate Seats and Campaign Schedule Shifts Again Before Election Day

President Donald Trump is set to campaign in both Iowa and Kansas on Sunday, November 1, restoring two rallies that had briefly been canceled as Republicans make their final push before Tuesday’s midterm elections.

There is one important update to the original report: the Iowa rally is now officially scheduled for Dubuque, not Cedar Rapids. The Republican National Committee lists Trump at the Five Flags Event Center in Dubuque on Sunday, with his remarks scheduled for the afternoon. The Kansas rally is scheduled later that day at Salina Regional Airport. GOP Events

The rapid scheduling changes began after Republicans initially announced that Trump would replace the in-person appearances with a series of shorter “tele-rallies” around the country. Trump said Thursday that he did not believe a Kansas visit was necessary because Republican Sen. Roger Marshall was doing well and rejected suggestions that health or fatigue influenced the change. The rallies were subsequently restored while the virtual events remained part of the closing campaign strategy. Reuters

Both states feature competitive Senate races. In Kansas, an Emerson College poll conducted October 26-28 found Democrat Adam Hamilton at 49% and Marshall at 45% among likely voters, with a ±3.5-point credibility interval. The same survey showed 3% backing Libertarian David Graham and another 3% undecided. Emerson Polling

In Iowa, Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson is running against Democratic state Rep. Josh Turek for the seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Joni Ernst. A Fox News poll from late September measured Turek at 49% and Hinson at 47% among likely voters, a difference within the poll’s margin of error. Fox News

The restored rallies give Trump two additional opportunities to mobilize Republican voters before Election Day on November 3, while the shifting schedule illustrates how intensely both parties are concentrating resources on Senate races during the campaign’s final days.
